Follonica is a lively little town that stretches out around the gulf from which it gets its name. It has pale sandy beaches and a seaboard that slopes down gently to the shoreline where there are several stretches with shallow water that make it perfect for children. During the summer months, visitors can browse around the little markets and stalls that are often set up along the seafront or perhaps enjoy an ice cream or aperitif in one of the many bars there.
This pretty town on the Etruscan Coast has grown up along a sandy shoreline backed by thick pine woods. The sea here is known for its clear waters whilst the beach has bathing establishments with all possible amenities that alternate with stretches of free beach. At night, visitors tend to wander through the pedestrianized town centre or spend time in charming little bars in the tourist harbour.
